Visit Oxford the home of the oldest university in the English speaking world. Then choose between Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill, or spend the afternoon visiting the beautiful Cotswold region, on this driving and walking day trip out in the beautiful English Countryside.

Known as “The city of dreaming spires”, Oxford is home to world-famous colleges, gorgeous architecture and incredible history, making it one of England’s must-see destinations. As much of the city is pedestrianised the best way to enjoy it is on foot so we will take a gentle stroll through its pretty, cobbled streets. On my guided walk you can enjoy many of the world-famous sites that make this city unique, including an abundance of Colleges, The Sheldonian Theatre, Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library, Bridge of Sighs, Ashmolean Museum, covered market and much, much more. After our walk there will be time to enjoy the shops and have lunch in one of Oxford’s many pubs or cafes (cost not included).

Blenheim Palace was the birthplace of Winston Churchill, Prime Minister of Britain during World War II and remains the main home of the Duke of Marlborough. It has been home to the Churchill family for more than 300 years. Built in the early 1700’s and the only non royal house in England to be given the title Palace, Blenheim was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
The grade I listed building is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and there will be time to explore the stunning gardens by Capability Brown after we visit the interior of the Palace.

We will take a drive through the picturesque and stunning Cotswold region to enjoy the best the English countryside has to offer, stopping off for short strolls around tranquil villages to sample the local shops and cafes and to take in the atmosphere.
