Paul was a fabulous guide (and all-around wonderful person) and I've already recommended him to others! He listened to our needs, including picking us up at Heathrow very early in the morning, and gave us a thorough overview of the London landmarks that were important to us. The black cab was spotless and we felt very safe at all times. His recommendation of a pub near our hotel with "the best" fish & chips was spot on! If ever we find ourselves in London again, we'll book Paul.

My wife, her lifelong friend and her husband, and I spent the entire day with Paul, our guide on the London Day Tour. We met at Westminster Abbey, walked to Buckingham Palace and viewed the changing of the Guard. But that wasn't the only part of this steeped in tradition practice. Paul brought us through the park where the guards paraded, led by mounted fusiliers, to the palace to relieve their comrades. It was a once in a lifetime experience that was made more understandable to us Americans by a lifelong London resident.
We then walked to Westminster Arrington minutes before Big Ben struck noon. Hearing perhaps the world's most recognizable clock chime being played by the world's most recognizable clock tower was on par with hearing a great singer perform live. And to see Parliment's most iconic symbol retored to its original condition left us in awe. Paul gave us insight to the renovation details that made this part of the tour unforgettable.
We walked through the park near Parliment viewing the statues of several of the UK's most important 20th Century's figures on our way to the Thames River boat tour.
Paul provided us with details of the many bridges crossing the river, the flood prevention systems used to keep the Thames confined within its shores. He explained the historical importance of the HMS Belfast that's permanently moored in the Thames, and led us to a typical English Pub where we enjoyed a lunch of proper fish and chips. An absolute pleasure.
We walked to the Tower of London crossing Tower Bridge to reach it. This leg of the tour is perhaps where Paul's tour guide talents and knowledge shown brightest. He provided the history of the bridge, the Tower, guards, Beefeaters, and historic figures who lived and died in the tower. He guided us to the various sites in the Tower including the area where the Crown Jewels reside. We learned more about the city, the country and the monarchy being with Paul for 5+ hours today than we did throughout our cumulative lifetimes. The only disappointment we have is not having the ability to provide a rating of 10 stars to Paul for today.
We highly recommend this tour.

Perfect introduction to London

Several days into our vacation to London everyone in the family is still commenting on how excellent our tour with Paul was. We did a half-day private tour of London to a long list of stops. It was a perfect way to begin our London visit because we saw many highlights, were introduced to the layout of the city, and were given some great tips and insights. Paul is an excellent ambassador of his city - so knowledgeable about anything we asked. He really knows his stuff, but he shares it humbly, mostly through conversation, and to the degree or detail he thinks you want. If we asked more, he shared more. I particularly liked how he gave us a sense of the character/vibe of each of the boroughs we visited. He was funny, engaging, and very accommodating to our family of six, ages 9 to 74, when it came to logistics, lunch, bathroom breaks, etc. We could not imagine a better experience for being introduced to London.

Paul is the perfect guide for London and the surrounding areas. Our trip to Oxford was pleasant and informative. Paul was on time picking us up at our hotel. Such an enjoyable day we had with him. Very knowledgeable about London's history. Made sure we saw Changing of the guard! Took us to every notable points of interest! Made sure we walked on the Millennium Bridge to show us the art work that Ben Wilson has painted to cover the chewing gum that people had deposited on the bridge. Highly recommend using Paul— you won't be disappointed!

Paul's driving tour of London was fantastic. That day we knew we would be tired and didn't want to deal with group walking. Turned out it was perfect not only for that, but because it rained the entire afternoon. We got to see the many sections of London we had only heard about, as well as major sites. Between raindrops we make quick photo stops of our choice. Paul himself---very fun, personable, intelligent, and well informed. The black cab--perfect! He is our man if we are ever in London again!

We booked Paul for 2 days of adventures in London. We were impressed with his knowledge & history of London. It was an adventure traveling with Paul in his clean London Cab (Nelly) that sat 6 adults comfortably and we could hear him thru the intercom system in the cab easily. He asked us what we liked and made tours of the things we were interested in. He was aware of our needs and handicaps to accommodate all of us. Today was our second consecutive day with Paul M and it was as good as the first day! Paul made Windsor Castle, the countryside to and from it, Runnymede and Eton a very enjoyable and informative tour! Once again Paul was considerate of our physical limitations and made accommodation for them. This made the tour that much more enjoyable and comfortable for us. Paul's driving skills are as excellent as his guide skills. His personal Black Cab was spotless both outside and inside. Paul is a "keeper!"
Today at Windsor Castle was our second consecutive day with Paul M. Our prior guided tours were at Westminster Abbey, Churchill War Room, Tower of London! Paul was a wonderful guide today as well. His skills both as a tour guide and cab driver(he owns his own Black Cab) are excellent. He gave us details re Windsor Castle (King Charles III was in residence) and its current and previous occupants that were both interesting and informative. Again, as he was yesterday, Paul was considerate of our physical limitations and made both our ride to and from Windsor Castle and our proximity to it as comfortable as he could for us. Paul was personable in that he asked us for advice re cruising since we had been to Hawaii on the NCL Spirit of America and we felt a bond of mutual respect and trust had been established between us. We highly recommend Paul M as a wonderful tour Guide in London and beyond!

Paul Murphy is both a personable & professional guide and a wonderful cab driver. Both my wife and I use a walking stick & cane to assist us in walking. Paul was most considerate in getting us as close to our venues as practicable and legally possible. He was very knowledgeable about the various venues; Westminster Abbey, Churchill War Rooms, Tower of London and made each venue come alive with details concerning both the locations and the personages associated with them. Paul was a pleasure to be with!

Paul was an absolute delight! He was on time, meeting us in our hotel lobby and ending the day at our requested drop off site. Having never been to London, we asked for a 1/2 day journey around the city to show us the sights, with intentions to re-visit the most interesting. Paul was knowledgeable (blue badge certified) and willing to discuss any topic about London we were interested in. We had no idea where to go. Paul's experienced years of tour guiding provided us with a most comprehensive overview.

Our tour with Paul was perfect. It was a great introduction to all of the most important London sites. Paul was friendly, entertaining and insightful. His classic London taxi was a great experience to travel in. He led us to the most efficient viewing of the changing of the guards where we saw both the departing guards and the arrival of the new guards. I couldn't recommend his tour more.

Paul was an excellent guide! He arrived right on time. Our tour was the day before the coronation so traffic was challenging, but Paul managed to get us to all the sights we wanted to see. When he discovered we were rock and roll fans, he included interesting music trivia along the way as well. His taxi is comfortable and extremely clean. He was quite informative without being overbearing. We highly recommend Paul as a tour guide!

If you are looking for a top-rate tour guide Paul is your man. He is professional, knowledgeable, and just a great person. He was punctual, his vehicle was new and spotless, and he was able to answer every question we posed to him. My husband is a history buff and Paul was able to provide him with facts he was unaware of. I cannot recommend a guide with higher confidence than Paul. You won't be disappointed. We can't wait to use him again when we visit next year. We will be referring our friends to him.

Our family of 6 toured Stonehenge & Bath with Paul as our guide. Paul is a very warm, caring, & attentive person. Our family enjoyed our trip and day out of the city in a Comfortable ride . Paul gave us the BEST tour of Windsor Castle and the cute town of Windsor. He arrived early at our VRBO flat, and his black taxi was perfectly clean and very roomy. We enjoyed learning the history of London and Windsor which he shared during our drive and walk around the town. He has a calm, kind personality, and his passion for and knowledge of history are astounding. He was extremely considerate and even tailored our tour to accommodate our desire to visit Windsor. We highly recommend Paul!

Exceptional family day out with Paul in Central London! After researching like crazy I thankfully found Paul’s website and after reading all of the wonderful reviews, decided to give him a try! All I can say is the reviews are spot on. Do not think twice - book Paul asap - you are in very capable hands. He was beyond kind, really catering to our family of pre-teen & teenage boys, as well as some nerdy history obsessed adults.
He is a wealth of knowledge and fun and was the highlight of our 5 week trip around Europe. The boys all agree Paul is a “Top G”!

We were a group of four, ranging in age from 10 to 70something, each with very different experience levels of London. Despite this Paul managed to entertain and inform each of us so expertly, he's such a professional guide who clearly knows his stuff and shares his knowledge in an engaging and relaxed way. I wanted to introduce my Niece to the city I love and Paul made our afternoon so memorable and fascinating. I saw places I never knew existed despite living in London for years! We saw much more in one afternoon than we thought possible, ranging from the very historic sites to famous film locations and some tucked away little known places too, all from the comfort of a lovely clean black cab with stops to wander and take photos. It is the perfect way to see & learn so much in a short time - great memories.

Do yourself a favor and let Paul take you to Stonehenge! Despite a gray day and the usual high winds at the site we had a wonderful visit during which we learned about the latest thinking on the history and function of this glorious place. Lunch at a local pub was a treat not to be missed.

We had a short visit in London and this was the perfect tour. We saw many of the well known sites and many less known sites. Paul was entertaining and educational. We got a great understanding of the history and importance of each location. Well worth doing!

Paul was an excellent guide- knowledgeable and a fabulous storyteller. He kept out teens engaged in every aspect of history and current events. Paul was able to deal with and assist us with any unexpected events (like a deluge of rain in the early parts of our tour). It was a pleasure to spend several hours walking London with Paul.

All was perfect, an on time pick up with a lovely new black cab - Nelly. The tele-coil feature in the cab was a great surprise and enabled me to hear the commentary perfectly. Even though it has taken me a bit to write this review thanks to how Amazing Paul was it is all still so fresh in our minds! My husband and I were on a Transatlantic cruise out of Southampton, spending a few days in London prior to that. It was suggested to us to contact Paul for transportation into London and also to Southampton. Paul meet us at the airport in his brand new Beautiful cab. Our ride into London Paul gave us SO many inside tips and pointers for the places we had planned to visit. I can not even begin to tell you how helpful those were. We hit just about every highlight with the exception of Kensington Palace. I was a little heartbroken I've always dreamed of going to London and absolutely adored Princess Diana. Paul picked us up in the morning for our transportation to Southampton with stops planned for Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Salsbury. Paul made a detour to take us to Kensington Palace!!! Even though Paul was not feeling what he would call 100% from the covid booster. We would never had known because he gave us such an Amazing and Memorable experience! We feel like we have a new friend in London and if we ever get the chance to return we will Defiantly choose Paul!

We spent the most magical day touring London with Paul. We were in London for only 1 day but we managed to experience many London Landmarks. He shared interesting historical background details of each place we visited so that each stop was most enjoyable. Our visit took place 2 days after Queen Elizabeth's passing so we were unable to go inside Westminster Abbey or get close to Buckingham Palace but we were rewarded by seeing King Charles as he rode from St. James' Palace to Buckingham Palace. Great tour!

We recently took a tour of Windsor Castle and Hampton Court Palace with Paul as our guide. What a great day! He was so knowledgeable, telling the story of each place in an everyday, conversational way, answering our questions, adding interesting anecdotes. At our request, he detoured through Runnymede to show us the approximate location of the signing of the Magna Carta. Much to our surprise and pleasure, we found out he shared our love of British murder mysteries, especially Inspector Morse! Thanks Paul!

When we signed up for our vacation our travel agent recommended Paul to us. The first time you sign up for a driver/guide you’re a little skeptical but in our care we trusted our agent. Paul was more than what we expected. We gave him a list of some ideas we would like to see in London and the surrounding area. Since it was my first time in England, I wanted to see some of the typical tourist place's changing of the guard, Tower of London, Windsor Castle, and some others. Paul took us to all these places and more. We spent 4 days in London and each day he knew the right places to see the changing of the guard as they went from Saint James Palace to Buckingham Palace but told my wife and I to wait in the same spot as other raced down the road. We did and he was correct in staying in place because we were able to see the horse soldiers return. It was late one day and we said it would be great to see the Rosetta Stone. He took us over the museum but before we left the car he explained where to go and what to expect. Afterwards, he said I have another place I think you would like and took us over to Abby Road and asked if I would like a picture similar to the Beatles crossing the road. His knowledge and understanding for what we would like to see was just spot on. Not only would I recommend him but next time I’m in London I’ll use him again.

If you're looking for a knowledgeable, friendly and efficient tour guide then Paul's your guy! We thoroughly enjoyed our first day in London with Paul. We actually spent two days with Paul on our London trip, booking the London Classic Highlights tour. Paul was extremely flexible with us on our second day and gave us a lot of latitude to see what we wanted! He was very aware of some of physical limitations and was readily willing to give us a very good tour of some highlights without us having to do a lot a walking. You won't find a more charming, intelligent guide for your stay in London. You will leave London knowing you had the best guide ever!

Paul was amazing! We covered so much ground and he kept us engaged even while we suffered from jet lag. He was super easy going and a pleasure to be around. He also navigated our tour around a huge bicycle Race and the queens jubilee that had many london streets shutdown. I wish we had time to use him more. Words can't adequately express how wonderful a job Paul did on the tour. I would call the tour "London 101" as it provides an overview of the city's history, landmarks, boroughs, and popular culture. All 6 of us on the tour were very happy with our tour and our guides. Paul and his driver Ray proved quite friendly and very knowledgeable, answering all our questions along the way and at the stops. Yesterday we had our tour with Paul throughout London. He is a definite FIVE star. His knowledge of the area and how he weaved it into our tour was incredible. Paul = exceptional Car = clean/comfortable. He customized our trip so that we were able to see the things we really wanted to see but his laid back approach allowed us the flexibility we needed while traveling with a ten year old, a college student and a senior. We had Paul pick us up in the city and the entire trip out of the city was filled with lots of information about landmarks and history. Paul was prompt and polite. The cab was immaculate. The tour we booked was to visit a site I had missed on a prior visit more than 30 years ago, Stonehenge. Awesome. It was what I imagined and with the inside information provided by Paul the kids andI were able to record our visit with some fantastic photographs. Seeing the cathedral at Salisbury and the Magna Carta housed within was a bonus. Paul was very informative regarding the history behind the sites visited. Highly recommend any tour by Paul.

Paul (our guide) picked us up at our Southampton hotel for the 10-hour tour of Stonehenge and Bath Day Excursion. Paul was terrific. He was on time, friendly, informative, set the pace of our tour to our speed, and of course both Stonehenge and Bath are must-see destinations.
